General

  • ESGE Days 2024 will be held as a hybrid event. Core scientific sessions and free paper presentations will be conducted in-person with almost all the core scientific programme streamed live or available on demand. Hands-on training courses and a selection of networking activities will only be available onsite. The Postgraduate Course will be available on demand from Wednesday, April 3, 2024 via the digital platform. An access link and information regarding how to log onto the digital platform will be sent to registered delegates shortly prior to the opening of the digital platform.

  • The official congress language is English.

  • ESGE Days 2024 is shown in CET time zone (Central European Time).

Registration

  • Registration to ESGE Days 2024 opens on December 1, 2023. Delegates have the choice of registering either for the onsite package (which includes both the onsite event as well as access to the virtual platform) or simply the virtual component (online package). Access to all Postgraduate Course material is included in both registration types. An additional fee will be charged for hands-on training courses. Please note spaces on these courses are limited and early registration is recommended. Hands-on training courses are only provided
    onsite.

  • ESGE Members: Your ESGE member’s identification number (ID) can be found in your ESGE member’s area profile on the membership platform. Please log in to ESGE members area at esge.com – your Membership ID number will appear in the top left-hand corner once you are logged on. The ID number is also included in your membership fee invoice. The ID number will be required when registering as an ESGE Member.

  • Yes, the Hands-On-Training Courses are limited to either 5 or 6 participants per course and per station depending on the course topic.

  • Participants can register for the onsite event up until the event starts and also during the live event itself. Digital registration is possible up until the close of the on-demand platform i.e. June 30, 2024.

  • Delegates can pay for registration either by bank transfer or via credit card payment. The following credit cards will be accepted: Visa, Mastercard, American Express. Please note that bank transfers will not be possible after April 12, 2024. From this date only credit card payments will be accepted. Payments will only be accepted in EUROS.

  • To acquire a visa letter, please indicate this during the registration process. You will be asked to provide your passport number, nationality, and date of birth. A visa invitation letter will then be sent to you via email once the payment process is completed.

  • Converting your registration from online to onsite is possible any time until April 24, 2024 and the difference in registration fee will be charged.

    Any conversion from onsite to online received in writing prior to March 29, 2024 will receive a refund of the difference in registration fee (minus 35 EUR processing fee). No refund will be given after this date.

  • Members of the press will be asked to provide a valid press ID card during the registration process and onsite.
    Members of the press will not be permitted to register for any hands-on training courses.

  • All cancellations and amendments must be submitted in writing to the conference office by email to esge@interplan.de. Cancellations received in writing prior to March 29, 2024 will receive a refund of the registration fee (minus 35 EUR processing fee). No refund will be given after this date; however, an alternative participant's name may be submitted until April 12, 2024.

  • On April 2, 2024, login data will be sent to all registered delegates via email. This applies to anyone who has registered either for the onsite or the online package.

  • On April 2, 2024 delegates who have registered for the onsite package will receive a bar code via email. Please bring your barcode with you - self-check-in stations will be available onsite for easy access and registration.


    Faculty members are not required to register themselves. Confirmation of your registration and a dedicated barcode will be sent to you closer to the event.

  • No, hands-on courses are only available in-person onsite in Berlin. Almost all the remaining sessions and offerings will be streamed to the platform or available there on-demand throughout the event.

  • Onsite registration is possible. In addition to credit card payments, cash payments are also accepted and must be made in EUROS onsite.

Virtual Platform Access, Congress App and Chat functions

  • On April 2, 2024, (for registrations received by this date) you will receive an email including your personal login data and detailed instructions as to how to enter the platform. For registrations received after this period, you will receive your login details immediately after your registration has been finalized.

  • No specific tool or software is required to attend the ESGE Days digital congress. The only requirement is an Internet-capable end device (PC or laptop, tablet, smartphone) and a stable internet connection. Please use Google Chrome browser to access the live stream. If problems occur, we invite you to switch to Mozilla Firefox browser. We strongly suggest you not to use Internet Explorer as a browser, since our service does not support it.

  • The ESGE Days 2024 Congress App is available for download free of charge from:

  • Both online and onsite attendees will have access to the Q&A and Chat function for live sessions via the Congress App or the congress platform directly. Questions received from delegates will be managed by the onsite Chair and fielded to the speakers.

  • All ePosters will be available on the virtual platform. It will be possible to submit a question to an abstract/poster author via the comment function on the right side of each poster. The author will receive email notification that a question has been posted and is requested to respond within a few days.

  • There is an exhibition area onsite in Berlin. Additionally, ESGE Days corporate partners will have a company profile on the virtual platform and some companies will be available for chat sessions.

Onsite Information

  • Delegates can also play their part in supporting ESGE efforts to conduct a sustainable event. During the registration process, delegates will have the opportunity to contributing to a climate project. Bring your own water bottle and refill this at the refill stations onsite in the convention venue. Hands-On Training course participants are asked to bring their own medical scrubs to use during the course. This will alleviate the use of single-use gowns. Please refer to the steps being taken during ESGE Days 2024 to offset our carbon footprint here.

  • Free Wifi will be available to delegates and exhibitors onsite and login information will be made available upon check-in.

  • It is possible to access the virtual platform whilst onsite in Berlin. It is recommended to use the Congress App to participate in the Q&A rather than go via the virtual platform.

  • All delegates and exhibitors are invited to join the Welcome Reception on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 17:30 – 19:00 in the Estrel Convention Center Berlin.

  • The average temperature in Berlin in April for a typical day ranges from a high of 59°F (15°C) to a low of 39°F (4°C). Some would describe it as moderately chilly with a gentle breeze. In Berlin in April, there's a 14% chance of rain on an average day.

Post Congress Services, CME, Certificates

  • One week after the event, an online event survey will be sent to all delegates who participated either onsite or online. This survey will need to be completed in order to claim the CME credits.

  • A Certificate of Attendance will be issued in conjunction with the CME credits and after completion of the event survey.

Abstracts

  • Abstract submission closes on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

  • Yes, all accepted abstracts are published in Endoscopy.

  • Abstract submitters will be informed in February 2024 as to whether their abstract has been accepted.

  • Yes, if your abstract is accepted you will be required to register for either the hybrid or the digital package. First authors of accepted abstracts are entitled to the Early Bird rate regardless of the date of their registration. A special registration link will be provided to the authors.
