1. About the cancellation
No, ESGE Days 2020 is being cancelled. ESGE will continue to work on scientific and educational activities namely by focusing our attention on all our virtual educational endeavours and to planning our 2021 event scheduled for March 25-27, 2021 in Berlin Germany. We look forward to seeing you there!
Yes, the postgraduate course, hands-on training, and Academic Skills Course and joint sessions with partners have been cancelled.
ESGE Days 2020 will not be offered as a virtual meeting. However, for many years we have been working on virtual offers such as our webinars and e-courses (myESGEtutor). Independent of the cancellation of our congress, we have been looking into various additional options to increase our virtual presence. To keep up to date with plans and developments, check our website and social media channels.

2. Registration cancellation and refunds
Yes, ESGE will refund your registration fee. Reimbursement will include any additional sessions that you have booked and paid.
Our registration management company, Europa Group, will reimburse according to the payment method you used during the registration procedure.
- Credit card: If you paid via credit card, you will automatically be reimbursed.
- Bank transfer: All refunds will be made using the same method as the original transaction. If you paid via bank transfer, your refund will also be via bank transfer.
You will receive an email from our registration coordination company (Europa Group) if they require any additional information to proceed with your reimbursement.
We would ask for your patience and understanding at this time as we are dealing with a very large number of reimbursements and your repayment will be processed as quickly as possible.
Yes, all aspects of your registration will be refunded including the postgraduate course, hands-on training sessions and the Academic Skills Course.
No, ESGE cannot assist with flight cancellations. Many airlines are relaxing their cancellation policies, please contact your carrier directly for more information.
No, this will not be possible. Registration for ESGE Days 2021 will be available early autumn.
At present the timelines with regards to the reimbursement process are not clear. Our team will be working hard to make sure reimbursements are processed as quickly as possible. We would ask for your patience and understanding at this time.

3. Awards and grants
No, as the travel grant is designed to cover costs associated with traveling to the congress, the cash aspect of the award will be not paid. Due to the unprecedented nature of circumstances, hotels and airlines are relaxing their refund policies and we hope that a majority of our participants will be able to cancel bookings without penalties. We ask for your understanding with regards to this matter.

4. Abstract presenters
The unique current circumstances mean that authors are not able to present their work in person at the congress. We are pleased to inform authors that all accepted abstracts will be published in the journal Endoscopy.
No, as outlined in the abstract submission guidelines, updates and edits of submissions are no longer possible.
Accepted abstracts will be published as planned in the journal Endoscopy. Other meetings may have regulations regarding prior publication; please contact the meeting organisers to find out more about their specific policies.
