Late breaking abstracts will open for submissions on January 6, 2025
ESGE would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the exceptional number of abstracts that we have received for ESGE Days 2025, which represents a signicant increase from last year. The submission portal is now closed and the Scientific Committee will begin the review process.
Should you be involved in exceptional research such as randomized controlled trials or meta-analyses, with significant impact in the field of endoscopy, you may wish to consider submitting a Late Breaking Abstract. All important instructions regarding the submission process can be found in the abstract submission guidelines below.
The ESGE Days 2025 best abstracts will be presented live as part of the Presidential Session, taking place on Thursday, April 3 between 14:30 - 16:30 CET. View in more detail on the scientific programme here.

Personal account
Abstracts and videos should be submitted using the dedicated online system which will open on September 17, 2024. Before submitting an abstract, authors must create a personal account. More than one abstract can be submitted from one account. After an abstract has been created, modifications can be made until the submission deadline on November 12, 2024 (23:59 CET) for non-ESGE members and November 19, 2024 (23:59 CET) for ESGE and SEED members.Choose the type of submission
For ESGE Days 2025 three types of submission are possible:- Text only abstract
- Case report (text only)
- Case report (video)
- Nursing abstract (text only)
Choose an abstract category
The abstract category is the general heading under which the abstract will be reviewed and later published if accepted. During the submission process, the submitter will be asked to select two additional subcategories. The abstract category and subcategories which best describe the subject of the abstract should be chosen.
Text only abstract structure
(Please note: same process applies for Nursing abstract submissions.)Abstracts submitted should contain concise statements of:
Aims: indicate the purpose and objective of the research, the hypothesis that was tested or a description of the problem being analysed or evaluated.
Methods: describe the study period / setting / location, study design, data collection and methods of analysis used. Results: present as clearly and in as much detail as possible the findings / outcome of the study. Please summarize any specific results.
Conclusions: explain the significance of your findings / outcomes and future implications of the results.
Word limits: The abstract text body is limited to 36 lines (approx. 450 words) excluding the title.Case report (text)
Authors should provide a brief overview of the case and the findings, highlighting any key points.

-
ESGE is proud to introduce the category of late breaking abstract (LBA) submissions for ESGE Days 2025.
The new category allows authors the opportunity to submit novel research that was not complete at the time of the standard submission deadline of November 19, 2024.
This is not an extension of the standard abstract submission deadline or for investigators missing the standard submission deadline.
Only high-quality original studies such as randomized controlled trials or meta-analyses with significant impact in the field of endoscopy will be considered.
Case reports, literature reviews, retrospective studies, revisions to previously submitted abstracts and abstracts that have been or will be published (as a full article) or presented in any other scientific meeting prior to ESGE Days 2025 are ineligible and will not be considered as a LBA.
Upon submission, authors are required to summarise why their research results are novel and why they could not be submitted by the standard submission deadline.
All abstract rules apply to the LBA.
LBA will also be considered for travel grants.
LBA will be reviewed by the ESGE Scientific Committee, and the final decision communicated to authors by mid-February.
Accepted abstracts will be presented orally during dedicated late breaking sessions. Therefore, authors are obliged to attend ESGE Days 2025 in person to present the abstract.
